This webinar was offered live on April 22, 2020 for Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health and Interdisciplinary Early Intervention practitioners by UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland and Through the Looking Glass.

The webinar focuses on the identification and treatment of early signs of Autism Spectrum Disorders, and the complexities of assessment when foster care and/ or ACES are part of the child’s experience. Infants showing prodromal signs of Autism fail to elicit or respond to early forms of social interaction dependent upon preverbal systems of sensory – motor responses.  This workshop focuses on interactional synchrony, and facilitation of an affectively-attuned infant-parent relationship.  Insights about the infant’s unique sensory motor processing and the parents’ thoughts and feelings form the basis for intervention.
