The Center for Developmental Play and Learning (CDPL)
The Center for Developmental Play and Learning (CDPL) was created in March 2007 by Co-founders Patricia Marquart, MFT and Jeanne White, MFT with the intention of providing Developmental, Individual- difference, Relationship-based DIR® services for families who seek a comprehensive intervention program for their child. While the perspective is comprehensive, the intervention program is specific to the child. CDPL appreciates the individual nature of each child’s profile, capacities and interests, and tailors the components of the intervention program accordingly.
Patricia Marquart, MFT Clinical Director and Co-Founder, CDPL
Has worked in the field of child development and therapeutic intervention programs for over 30 years. Pat worked in the Therapeutic Nursery School Program in the Child Psychiatry Department of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for 9 years, working with families and children with a variety of developmental disorders, including autism. She is a licensed MFT who has also worked in private practice and headed a program called First Friends, which provided services to children with autism, using the DIR® model. She is a DIR® Certified therapist specializing in services to children with ASD and is on the staff of the Interdisciplinary Council on Developmental and Learning Disorders (ICDL).
Jeanne White, MFT Co-Director and Co-Founder, CDPL
For the past fifteen years, Jeanne has worked with families and their children to help them achieve their highest developmental and emotional outcomes. Jeanne is a licensed MFT who has also worked in private practice and worked with child development specialist teams providing services to young children with autism. In addition, Jeanne was program Director for a children’s mental health program called A Childs Path which provided therapeutic support and case management for extremely high-risk children and their families. Jeanne is Co-Director of CDPL and is a DIR® Certified therapist through ICDL and Profectum organizations.
